«During the 33rd Session of the
General Conference of the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO),
held in Paris from 3-21 / October
2005, the prize that bears our name:
UNESCO- King Hamad Bin Isa Al-
Khalifa Prize for the Use of Informa-
tion and Communication Technolo-
gies in Education, was established.
This initiative is a real honour
for our beloved Kingdom, and an
international acknowledgment of
our achievements. It is also an
indication of trust in what we have
achieved in the fields of culture and
education from an august interna-
tional body such as UNESCO.
We congratulate you, and the staff
of the Ministry of Education, for the
important role that you have played,
and for the great achievements you
have attained in the field of educa-
tion in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It
is these efforts that have resulted
in this great appreciation that the
